Traveling across Europe: The CEA Project's New "Classmates"

An idea that travels in a box
How can we explain geographical distance and cultural diversity to preschool children? The CEA project chose a playful and tangible strategy: the exchange of Class Mascots. Each partner school prepared and shipped a special box to the other preschools participating in the project.

Inside is not just a puppet, but a true ambassador of their culture.

What's in the package?
Each box received from our partners contains:

-The Character: A puppet representing the school or local tradition.

-The Educational Kit: A series of activity suggestions (games, songs, images) designed to introduce foreign children to the customs, language, and environment of their European peers.

From curiosity to empathy
The arrival of the box is a moment of great emotion. Opening a package from Poland, Greece, or Italy transforms Europe into something we can touch, embrace, and play with. Through the puppet, children begin to familiarize themselves with different linguistic sounds and new traditions, developing a natural approach to the "other."

The puppet is not just a toy, but an educational mediator that leads active citizenship activities: it is the puppet that asks questions, tells stories, and invites children to engage with one another.
