The second online meeting. The training program for the CEA project continued with a new transnational meeting, this time coordinated by the Greek partners. The focus of the session was the very heart of our initiative: the founding values of the European Union and their pedagogical interpretation for children aged 3-6. From theory to educational practice. During the workshop, our Greek colleagues offered an overview of the European pillars—such as solidarity, democracy and respect for human dignity—stimulating a shared reflection on how these concepts can be experienced daily by children. Although European values are broad and universal themes, the discussion highlighted how they find concrete application in small, everyday actions at school:
-
Solidarity in shared play and mutual aid.
-
Democracy in managing shifts and small group decisions.
-
Respect for diversity through listening and curiosity about other people's traditions.
A child-friendly language. The meeting reiterated a central challenge for our project: translating grand ideals into experiential language. Thanks to the contribution of the Greek team, we discussed how the school environment should become a "small Europe," where values are not only explained with words, but lived through example and the organization of section life.
Next steps. This shared theoretical framework will serve as the basis for future activities involving children. Coordination between the various schools (Italy, Poland, and Greece) ensures that, despite differing methodologies, the educational message remains consistent and strong across all partner nurseries..
